YESvember is Over
This past week got away from me. Two appointments for the kids. Bennett's IEP. A very unexpected car accident. Prior to that, a relapse with my pelvis and hips that has upped the pain ante in me all week long and seriously is making me reconsider my originally thanking Chiropractic Care on my BLOAT list earlier on and also making me wonder if I should be going down this path.
Where does that leave BLOAT?
I dunno. Not sure I even care. I have some of the rest of the list finished, and I might continue BLOAT into December. Might. Based on the response, I may just let it die.
Maybe not.
If there is one thing I have had some epiphany over it is that as I move forward with this blog I want more focus and clear intent regarding the fact that I am writing this thing with very specific goals, goals that matters most to me on a personal level. And the exercise of losing a lot of my readership this past year because of my lack of posting has made me think a lot about the directions I want to go. I have become clearer in my head about what purpose this blog serves to me. So in a way that is a good thing.
Having said that, I'll just see where it takes me going into December. For those expecting more BLOAT this week? Sorry, shit it do happen! :)
OUT.

Yikes! Are car accidents ever expected? Hope you or whoever was in it is ok. I'm still here reading my friend.
Wow. That sounds like a really horrible time. I read BLOAT, and had fun with it but honestly don't give a crap if you finish or not, as long as you keep posting something. (Not like I matter being I don't really know you, but I have been reading for a couple years now.)
You know how I feel about "alternative" medicine, which I prefer to call "integretive medicine" -- and I'm wondering if you're having a bit of healing going on. Sometimes things DO get worse before they get better with these things -- at deep, cellular levels. I think you should hang in there -- particularly if the person working on you is very reputable.
Oh no! Sorry about the car accident and other stuff. And some of us are in here for the long haul, no matter what direction you take this blog. :)
Here to ditto Elizabeth. It is common...to be expected even...that there will be "relapses" during any new course of treatment. You must stay the course. Your body is needed to realign. Give it time. :)
I read you, dude. Sorry to hear about the car accident.
Dude....you can still post a subpar, no thought blog and get 6+ comments....me, I get nothing. You have a readership that you deserve. You represent a group that needs representing! Don't despair! Keep it up!
ok....sorry, my envy showed through.....I am sure you put some thought into your blog....and, no one knows our relationship so.....you know who your are to so many.....that should be enough. you give voice to tose who don't get to do so very often. Get back to your nitch.....parents of special needs children. That is your git.
Jesus, Dora's Daddy -- that's some serious condescension. And it's "niche," not "nitch" -- some of us "parents of special needs children" are damn good spellers and writers, too.
After the BMW ate the truck in May and a carbeque ate the Echo in August, I totally empathize with the wreck. I'm sorry it happened --- are you all ok physically??
I'm sorry your back pain is flaring --- that also sucks. i hope the path you choose to take gets you closer toward healing.
...and an IEP meeting --- another suck. Jeebus!
Please hang in there -- for you, youur family and for your readers. How else will I stay sharp at running the company's cyber gauntlet than by checking your blog 5+ times a day?!? :)
Goodbye sweet BLOAT.....
Sorry to hear about the car accident and also your pain making a comeback. My wife and I have both had good results with Chiropractors. Hopefully yours didn't make anything worse.
I'm interested now to see where you go with the Blog :)
Kevin
For what it is worth, I apologize for any condescension. This was certainly not my intent. I only meant to convey to Ken my appreciation for his talent, and his willingness to be open and give voice to thoughts and feelings that many don't. He should know that I look up to him. One can't talk down to someone while looking up.
Dora's Daddy...I knew what you meant to say and didn't take offense. Sometimes old friends speak in a shorthand that might not come across in a blog comment section.
I certainly appreciate all who have my back and can appreciate if anyone else misunderstood the message you were trying to deliver to me, but it is also important to me personally to remind anyone who might doubt your loyalty or intention about who you are and what you've meant to me...

I read your blog! I am not a big commenter on any blogs, which I realize makes me a shitty reader lol but I'm here.
Hello I'm Tim Hagans from Twilight Star Studios. I was wondering if you would be interested in doing some rough pencil layouts for a comic book I'm writing. I can't afford to pay but I can give comp copies (10 comp copies), it would give you some great exposure. You can even sell the comp copies at cover price(3.99 ) and make a profit. Check out our studio at [link] let me know if you are interested.
thanks, Tim Hagans

...Hey, Ken ---
All my emails are bouncing back. You out there? You ok?
Which address are you using?
Helooooooooooooooooo!
Where are you?
I hope you're all right!
I am, thanks for checking. I'm still deciding whether or not I want to continue blogging or not. That and I have an ear/sinus infection that doesn't seem to want to go away that came after a cold/flu. So it's been a nasty month of sicky.
Sorry for the inconvenience but I wonder how could I contact you. I knew you from your page on DeviantArt and asked you to use some of yours line art to paint. I'm a Final Fantasy fan and would like to paint those great draws.
If isn't too much asking, ca you reply me by e-mail or DA? e-mail: shinkenuu@gmail.com
And I'm very much shocked with all your bravure and hope proved on Bennett's Story. Surely a life lesson.
Cheers! You should tell your children that you got a big fan of your draws :D
Just a quick congrats on the Ravens win! Hopefully that last goal line stand didn't give you any heart palpitations :)
The man who blogs little thinks too much.
Stuck in a rut, sits on his butt.
In the world he is swimming, where troubles abound
There are people who hear him, though he makes not a sound.
I miss your posts. Hope life is treating you well.
Thanks, I miss writing them. I'm currently in a bit of a transitional period trying to figure out how to continue doing a blog while respecting the wishes of a few folks who are legitimately not comfortable with how...let's say...OPEN...I tend to be.
If I can figure out how to reconcile that in some way I can get back to it. Though admittedly it has been weird. I have been online in some way since around '99, and this has been the longest I have kind of stayed off of it. In the words of Mr. Horse..."No sir, I don't like it!"
I miss you! Your blog is unique in my reading list (which mostly consists of adoption, homeschooling, and widow blogs) and I don't have time or energy to search for a "replacement". Besides, they wouldn't be you. Please come back if you can. Hope things are looking up for you and your family.
It's ironic that the last big image I happened to have up there was a train derailment. Didn't plan it that way, but that is exactly what happened to this blog, isn't it? Almost makes me laugh when I see it. Almost.
I do want to get back to it. And to be honest I really miss doing it. I just need to do two things...one, be sure that when I do it that I am totally ready to give it all that I have and make it substantive and two, I need to hammer out a couple of minor details about content.
In any case, I appreciate your taking the time to reach out with a statement like that...means a lot.
Well, I'll be patient. And I did see the irony when I came back to comment. Ah well...I'm not exactly what you would call a consistent blogger myself. Don't get too down on yourself. :)
